Our Commitment to Sustainability

AKA all the details about our creative materials and the creative arts we got into this year

Ancient Laundry Baskets

have been repurposed to provide safety to our passengers

Creative Reuse Purchases

Tote bags, Mugs, Coffee Cups, were purchased for $1 each. Screen printing supplies and the business card holders for the historic landmark bases came in our $20 fill your own bankers box from the Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange!

Hinges, Reclaimed Lumber for the gift shop, and our heat gun were acquired from Rebuilding Exchange!

And a few bits and bobs, including the roller shade for the Photo backdrop from the Wasteshed!

Tote bags and T-shirts were printed by hand while being watched over by some past Chiditarod trophies. First attempt at a screen printing board that quickly had to be upgraded was part of our Wordle cart.

Old Robot Pieces

Some wooden components are from the bones of old Rockem-Sockem robots.

That red pole on the left was part of a robot, and there’s a blue pole on the right, both old duct tape covered robot bits.

Froot Loops

These Froot Loops have been sitting on the shelf for a while, but they’re still going strong
